The public is invited to a Closing Reception on Saturday, December 17, 5-9 pm and to view and purchase works during regular gallery hours Tuesday–Saturday, 10 am-4 pm. Free parking is available on the south side of the building. The show is a “love letter to the thousands of artistic decisions artists make to create a complete work of art” says Cotton, “There is a beautiful commonality between this group of artists and their work that yields a cohesive and intriguing collection.”
“Sometimes I don’t know exactly what I want [with a painting] … Sometimes I am afraid of ruining what I have. Sometimes I am lazy, I don’t finish it, or I don’t push it far enough. Sometimes I think it’s a painting.”
– Artist Joan Mitchell (1925–1992)
