Courtney Cotton

Courtney Cotton is a conceptual artist whose work refers to perspective and perception. She views her current work which includes collage, painting and a large scale sculpture as a tool for healing and conscious awareness—an imperative to developing coping skills and resilience. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States and in South America. Her first museum show in Littleton, Colorado was in 2020 as a benefit from a best in show award given by juror Gwen Chanzit for her painting Landing. Cotton is a board candidate for Think 360 Arts for Learning and completed an invitational residency in 2020 at the Rule Gallery in Marfa, Texas. Previous awards include second place in both Miami & Steamboat Springs and a Technical Brilliance award from The Art Students League Denver for a sculpture. Her painting La Danza was published in La Danza Cosmica a book by Martin Huerta Santiago de Chile. She is represented by Candita Clayton Gallery, in Pawtucket, RI; London, NH; and Kor Aspen. Prior to making art she worked architecture and design and hopes to carry this experience through to various public art projects she has applied for. Courtney lives and works in Denver, Colorado. Born in Pennsylvania, Charlotte is her original hometown. As more private collectors and businesses continue to support her art Cotton’s artistic path reflects an unflinching willingness to experiment. Her adventurousness is evident in the wide range of works that compromise her oeuvre.
